the only ones i applied to were the ones in the UC application and fafsa. i didnt get any, is it because my stats are low? i have a transfer GPA of 3.2. what do u need to get a scholarship?

Gotta look for them. Search online or look at boards. Scholarships don’t look for you, you have to look for them. Some UCs send scholarship invites to students who may qualify for certain scholarships (e.g. non-traditional, reentry, veteran, student with children, single parent, overcame adversity, etc.) via email. One isn’t guaranteed an automic scholarship, one needs to apply. If they haven’t sent you anything yet, you should look for scholarships that may suit you. Look up terms that describe you (“transfer” “engineering” and so on). Some scholarships are department specific (letters and science, engineering, business, you get the picture). Good luck!!

Search for this book:“How to go to College Almost for Free” by Ben Kaplan. I’m half way through and it has so much great info on how to get aid. Good luck.

Hey rah have you actually won any scholarships from that book? I applied to like 5 and didn’t get awarded anything. ):

I haven’t applied to anything mentioned in the book yet but I will pretty soon. I will let you know how it goes for me. I read a chapter on how to search for scholarships and I expect that that will help me score some scholarship money. I wonder how much is worth the trouble and how much is not. Keep applying though!
