We are looking for new outdoor dining furniture. We purchased an outdoor sectional last year which has brown wicker bases with SunBrella covered cushions and a complementary umbrella which we love. We are looking for a table and chairs that will accommodate 6 to complement that. We have a wide patio, so they will be on opposite side of the doors to the house. We purchased the first set at Crate and Barrel. We don’t like any of their outside dining options, nor do we like what Pottery Barn is showing.
I was wondering if anyone has advice on where to buy patio furniture or specific brands they like. I see many attractive options on line at Frontgate but I’d like to see the furniture in person if possible. There are some “pool and patio stores” around that I haven’t been to yet, but I thought I’d seek out some CC advice before heading to those.
I bough a wonderful patio table last year at a local pool store. Try checking some of those brick and mortar stores out. You get to actually see the product and sit in them. Many stores are having early season sales right now too.
I second the suggestion of the local stores! We went to a great local store called Summer House where we got a sturdy dining set by Hanamint. Our guests love the firetable!
Costco online has more than in-store but you will find a few configurations in store. Their stuff seems to be very well made. The local store idea makes sense as well.
Was just looking online for the same thing this morning. After all of the usual suspects, Wayfair seemed to have the widest selection and some good sale pricing. Obviously you cannot see it in person, but our new patio table and chairs will likely be coming from them based on what I found and the positive experiences we have had ordering furnishings from them in the past.
I stopped at At Home today to look for new chaise cushions and outdoor pillows (omg, they have SO many options - and through April 16, all cushions were buy one, get one 50% off) and I noticed they had some really nice looking outdoor furniture groupings on display. Many type of configurations. Might be worth a look. Their outdoor furniture/outdoor accessories in general is quite expansive!
My in-laws bought a lot of outside furniture from Frontgate about 7 years ago. They have not been thrilled with the quality. A few pieces have broken and some of the wicker really faded. I was at 2 Homegoods this week and they have a lot of outdoor furniture right now. Major brands and the prices seemed reasonable.
We purchased a Polywood dining set a few years back and are extremely happy with it. The quality is second to none. The material is the same as Trex decking, so it is low maintenance, sturdy/heavy, and very long lasting. We purchased the Harvest table only in Mahogany style 8300H and then added 4 armless side chairs and 2 arm chairs in the same color because we didn’t like the chairs that were in the set. Here is their website:
Edit: The Harvest Table has 4 (metal powder coated) legs. Many of their tables have a lot going on underneath. We wanted a simple style. Unfortunately, it is their most expensive table. I have not regretted spending this much for our table. We like it that much!
Very nice, @jshain! Love low maintenance outdoor stuff.
It was drizzling and 45 degrees tonight, but we enjoyed our dinner on the covered patio with the fire keeping us warm. The firetable set is the best furniture we’ve bought, no questions about it.
Do you have a great gatherings? We bought tommy Bahama outdoor furniture and the lounge chair may be the most comfortable seat ever.
Our garden stores also sell outdoor furniture.
Here a lot of the ski stores sell patio furniture. At this time of the year, they are selling it off (often in ‘tent sales’ to make room for the winter sports stuff.

All our furniture is from there. Expensive but excellent quality. After 20 years I have replaced 2 lounge chair pads with pads from Costco. The replacement pads just cost too much. I leave the furniture out all year. The advantage was they are heavy, so they withstand most wind. I ordered it online after seeing it at a patio store for twice the price.
