I figured you lot were the perfect people to ask this question to… I want to write nice letters to my mom and FMIL to give to them on the wedding day… I wanted to get them a small gift and decided a thoughtful note was the way to go. The idea is that this is a keepsake, so I want to get some really nice, quality stationery… I was hoping for something feminine and pretty-- you know, it’s a wedding. Googling this is getting me hot pink and leopard print, I am only finding stuff that is more suitable for kids birthday cards. I wanted more classic and subtle, ladylike. Where do you shop for this sort of thing?

Local art supply store, Large commercial art supply store (i.e. Michael’s, JoAnn’s), and some Targets have a hefty craft selection.

I purchased a nice set earlier this year when I needed to write scholarship thank you letters.

For nice stationary, Crane is widely available in stores and online. Crane.com will let you search for local stores.

Well if you wanna go artisanal.

Just do a search for " hipsters dont do e-ink".
No seriously- letterpress artisan paper stationary.
But really, that is a very sweet idea, and better than any purchased gift, IMO.

AmericanStationary.com has nice items

Etsy could have something more tailored to an individual style

I also like Crane’s but unless your taste runs to the more conservative you might want to look further. My daughter LOVES Kate’s Paperie In New York City. They have high quality stationary with a more contemporary look.

What a very sweet and thoughtful idea! I like Paper Source for nice papers in varying weights, sizes and colors. They have a website and many retail stores. I would consider picking the color paper you want and perhaps cutting the edges with scissors that can edge the paper. I love the light pink/rose colored paper stock which is very feminine. It comes in many many shapes and sizes. Lots of choice.

I also like Cranes. However, I think Paper Source is equally as good, less expensive, and will allow you to customize more.

I love shopping in Papyrus stores, and they have a website.

http://www.papyrusonline.com/

Here’s a link. I think the blossom color is very feminine and pretty. If you need help, you could call one of the stores and speak with one of the employees as they usually have wonderful ideas.

When we lived in Bellevue, I was at the Papyrus store all the time.
I wonder if it is still there. I need some stationary too!

If you have an independent bookstore they sometimes have beautiful stationary.

Sometimes TJ Maxx and Tuesday Morning have stationary/note cards. And doesn’t Hallmark still sell it?

stationERY, people! :)

What a lovely idea, Em! If you want old school/traditional heavy papers, check this website: mrsstrong.com. My D got her wedding invitations here. They have ready-to-go note cards too.
