Where to go for Computer Science

Hello everyone,

I was recently accepted to NYIT, CUNY Hunter, CUNY Baruch, CUNY Brooklyn, NYU Poly and Rensselaer

I am going to be majoring in Computer Science and I was wondering which of these schools would be the best for that.

Also I wanted to know if I should get a masters degree or not, does it really matter for Computer Science?

Thanks for any reply

RPI sounds neat to me. Assuming nothing else mattered (cost, loation, etc.), I might go there.

Worry about getting that bachelor’s degree first. For CS, my advice is to get your BS degree, get a job with someone who has a tuition benefit and is near a good school, and get your MS degree while you’re working so someone else pays for it.

lynxinsider has some great advice regarding the masters degree.

My S is majoring in Information Technolgoy at RPI and thinks very highly of the program. If you could swing the finances, it is a good choice.

Don’t understand how you could have heard back from RPI yet though, as they have not yet released their decisions for the RD round.
