U of Washington Honors with Space grant scholarship
Notre Dame with $12,000 per year
Rice
Case Western Reserve with $25,700 per year.

I want to major in Physics. I am not religious although of Catholic descent. Like the midwest but used to live there but now live in Seattle. I am a little nerdy but like fun. And hot chicks! I need to go where there are hot chicks!

If you have the money, I’d go w/ Notre Dame…I’d assume there’s a good number of hot chicks…I live in WA and ive heard UW is big and most people hang out w/ the same friends as in high school. just something to think about. If money is no issue, id take a look at both Rice and ND and choose accordingly. If money is a pretty big issue then maybe visit Case and see how u like that too.

Isn’t U Washington’s physics program very highly ranked (top 15)? I would not eliminate it from consideration too lightly. You have four nice choices there, congratulations.

I don’t understand the space grant scholarship, is that basically a full ride?

Go with the school that offers you more grant/scholarship money. It’s nice to finish school without huge loans or debt. You can save that money for grad school.

Space Grant for me is $1000 per year. But I also have $2000 per year for the first two years. Space Grant also hooks you up with research and stuff.

although you’re not religious, notre dame would be a good school for all the things that you mentioned about what you wanted at a school. the only thing that i guess is a bit of a “turn-off” is that it has a catholic background, or so i’ve heard. but you are of catholic descent, so its all good.

I would definitely recommend leaning towards the school that gives you the best financial aid package. My brother graduated with a TON of debt, and I would reccomend trying to avoid that!

I would say Rice. I think it has by far the best academic reputation, especially in the sciences. Although it is considered a little geeky, people still seem to have fun there. However, there is little doubt that the students would be more attractive at ND. While you were given some aid at ND, isn’t the tuition at Rice so much less that it would overall still be cheaper for you?
