My father runs his own business. Last year it was hit with a $500,000 internet scam. He had to cash in his 401k and all hiis savings. We had to cut down a lot and his personal net loss was $470,000. Where on the commonapp should I put this info, and should I put it at all? Thanks.

What impact did it have on your education and/or extracurriculars? Unless it was significant, I’m not sure you need to put it at all. Keep in mind that this isn’t a financial aid application, just a college application; a lot of colleges are need blind anyway.
If you do feel you need to include it, then yes, ‘Additional Info’ is the place.
