<p>Georgetown would definitely be a more engaging and interesting place to stay, if you were choosing to be within walking distance of one or the other. Actually, I can’t really think of any hotels within walking distance of AU. I would suggest either staying in the Georgetown neighborhood or getting a hotel somewhere on the Red Line of the Metro (Dupont, Woodley Park, Farragut, Metro Center, Chinatown, etc.). Georgetown runs regular shuttle buses to campus during the week from the corner of 20th & Massachusetts, right near the Q Street entrance to Dupont Circle metro. AU runs regular shuttles from the Tenleytown metro. Both are on the Red Line.</p>
