I’m AA with a 2150(1430) SAT. My grades are superb from junior and senior year but about average before that. My UW GPA is a 3.2.

What schools will be looking for URM that admit largely on SAT scores?

Colleges will bend a lot for top URMs. But never those with low grades. They will overlook many things–lack of opportunity, bad education, lack of exposure. What they’ll never forgive is laziness–kids who had the opportunities and blew it. You can be the class val with an 1850 and have a shot at top schools. The reverse never works.

You say you have a rising trend in grades. What do you want to study? What college characteristics are most meaningful to you? (I’m thinking maybe your question really belongs in the College Search and Selection Forum, insofar as it deals with choosing colleges to apply to.)
