<p>To audiophile: Eavesdropping in restaurants is one of my favorite activities. I wish I had been present to overhear that exchange. (Let me guess–your brother-in-law “forgot” to leave a tip.) Funny story!</p>
<p>“We were having dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant and he was telling my kids about the cat dung coffee he enjoyed in Vietnam.”</p>
<p>Well, the storyteller’s jet lag might have helped confuse Vietnam with Indonesia. </p>
<p>However, it’d be hard to confuse that atrocious mixture of black concoction and sweet milk called vietnamese coffee with any type of expensive type of coffee.</p>
<p>No Xiggi, it’s in Vietnam also. Usually known as “weasel coffee” there, but also from Civets.</p>
<p>As far as Cafe Sua Da, I love that stuff, but try to avoid sweets most of the time.</p>
<p>Audiophile, I guess that there is some wisdom in “De gustibus non est disputandum.”</p>
<p>I think that “ca phe sua nong” and its cousins are all pretty horrible, especially with the condensed milk. But then there are people who swear that the chicory-laden beverage served at Caf</p>
<p>That’s funny, our local Vietnamese restaurant uses the canned Cafe’ Du Monde in the mixture for Cafe Sua. Guess you’re not a chicory fan!</p>
