I’m in the class now, our last test was on the Rennaissance and we’re finishing mannerism.

Any recommendations on whether or not to take the AP test? i’ve heard the test is supposed to be really difficult…

If I were to take the test, what are some good ways to study (prep books, etc.)?

Thanks

Edit: Also, no one in my school has gotten a 5. In the past, most people that have taken the class at my school have gotten 4’s, and the rest have gotten 3’s.

primitivefuture, did you take it? if so, did you do well?

did you take the class in school or did you self-study?
I’m hesitant to take it just because no one in my school has gotten a 5. In the past, most people that have taken the class at my school have gotten 4’s, and the rest have gotten 3’s.

You guys are only on Mannerism :(. Wow, that’s really behind as the test is just two months away. You should be around Romanticism now.

I found the test rather easy. As long as you understand all the major periods of art and the major artists in them, you should do fine.

There aren’t any decent study guides for the AP Art History test. I would recommend ordering an old AP AH test from the collegeboard store to see how you do (on the periods you have already studied). Decide from that.

Yeah i agree the test is somewhat hard. But reading the study guide and taking loads of practice tests will certainly help. I prepared for the exam through an online course (apexvs.com ). It is really helpful. But for colleges, self - study is REALLY impressive.

I don’t think there is much point to that class. If you look up the AP credit policies at most universities, Art is not accepted most of the time.
