I got a 34(33E,35M,33R,33S,10W) on the ACT + writing and a 35(31E,36M,36R,36S) on the state one without writing. I called a couple of colleges and they all told me to send both in, but seeing how I’m applying to quite a few colleges, the bill comes up pretty high. So, is the difference between a 34 and a 35 even worth the extra $100? Also, on the common app, where it asked for the highest scores I included the state ACT so does that force me into sending both?

I’m not sure what kind of score reporting commitment you have honor since you already submitted common app and self-reported both sets of scores…however, I do know that a lot of schools require the writing section if you submit the ACT.

Look at the rules for the colleges you applied to. If they require writing, send the first one.
