Which one should I submit to colleges?

Why not submit both? Maybe you’ll get lucky with an application reader who mentally superscores you!

how did u get a 34 english and only a 8 essay. It’s very good, but i’m just curious. Were you not trying? How does one improve their essay and or their english section?

What is your intended major? If it is in a English type field, then I would submit the April one, if not then the Feb. one. Don’t bother sending both, save your money.

I’d send the April one, since there’s no real major difference between any particular section.

Easily… he’s good at grammar, not good at writing. For example, I know people who ace every single multiple choice question in SAT writing (basically ACT english) and get 6-7 on essay.

-I don’t think it has much to do with any of that. I got a similar score (35 english, 8 essay), and the main reason why I scored a lot lower on writing was because I just didn’t have enough time. I’m typically good at writing, but 25 minutes is not good enough for me to write an excellent, coherent essay. I can assume ohioguy is in the same position.

Essay on SAT and ACT do not measure one’s writing skills whatsoever. So please do not judge a person’s English skills by looking at ACT or SAT writing scores.

Yeah, I like how the ACT’s writing/reading sections don’t include the essay score. I got a 36 on reading but an 8 essay. Lawl.

I’d send the first one. Better essay and seems less bland, especially if you wanna seem like an english person. 33 is good anyways

The multiple choice scores look equivalent, so I’d send the April, with the higher writing score.

Another consideration: Colleges get to see your actual essay. Which one do you think was better?

Thanks for the help … it’s much appreciated.
