Hello, and thank you for reading my question!
I took the ACT twice and got a 29 both times. However, I’m not sure which score will be more appealing to college admissions officers. What do you think?

Oct.
English 31
Math 27
Reading 32
Science 24
Essay 09

Dec.
English 30
Math 29
Reading 31
Science 25
Essay 08

I really torn b/c my essay, English, and Reading portions are better on the Oct. However, I’ve heard that English and Math and considered to be the most important sections. I really have no idea if that it true or not. Anyways, I appreciate any advice.

Oh. I don’t know if this matters, but my two reach/dream schools are Grinnell and Carleton.

Both of your colleges are on the Common App, so if you apply through there you will be able to put your best scores from each on your application. You just need to submit both test dates. Either way, a 29 is an impressive score and there aren’t huge disparities between any of your scores. Good luck!

I would say your october scores are better

Ehh… At first glance, December. But your writing was a 9 in October, and 1 point out of 12 is a big jump. On the Common App, you will be able to put all your scores in. Also, you should check to see if the schools you’re applying do superscores – They’re really helpful!

I would just take the $ hit

Send both. I did that to 4 of my schools. That’s $88. You never know.
