I’m not old enough to take the AP in my school yet but I want to know!
Which AP courses are easy and hard in general?
Not like if your good at math, any math AP courses will be easy!
In general, which courses are easy and hard?

Psychology, Environmental Science, and Human Geography are considered by most to be the easiest APs. That being said, there are no truly “easy” APs - they’re all difficult, but relative to the others, these three are the least challenging for most.

Calculus BC, Chemistry, Physics B and C, and Spanish Language are considered among the most difficult APs. Getting a 5 on these tests is impressive.

US History is the most widely taken AP.

AP Jesus is pretty hard I heard.

I wouldn’t recommend taking Environmental Science or Human Geography. Barely any colleges accept those credits.

In general:

Hard: Physics C, Foreign Languages, Calc BC, Chemistry

Easy: Environmental Science, Human Geo, Psychology

^^True, AP Jesus is tough. AP Lunch is a b!tch though.

I second that.

the foreign language APs (the language part, not lit) are usually the lowest scoring, unless you are a native, of course.
other than that its all opinion-based, since every person has their strengths and weaknesses.

1st Tier (Most Difficult):

AP Biology
Calculus AB
Calculus BC
Chemistry
Chinese Language
AP English Language
AP French Language
AP Physics B/C
Spanish Language
Latin Vergil’s Aeneid

2nd Tier:

Computer Science A
Micro/Macro Econ
English Lit
Euro History
World History
US History
German Language
Comp/US Gov
Japanese Language
Music Theory
Spanish Lit
AP Statistics

3rd Tier:

Art History
Environmental Science
Human Geography
Psychology
Studio Art

Lol for me personally:
AP Math and Science are Easy. (Because its basically knowledge based)
AP History and Languages are Hard. (because its basically memorization based, which I dont devote enough time to hahaha)

I wouldn’t call English Lit second tier. Only 7% or so of test-takers get a 5, definitely one of the harder ones to do well on.

You can look up all of the score distributions for each subject here: [AP: Exam Grades: Summary Reports: 2009](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>AP Program Results – Reports | College Board) Download the Excel file and analyze to your heart’s content.

^^ So since Calc BC has like 40 percent of the test takers getting 5’s that makes it the easiest AP.

^Not at all. Calc BC is probably the hardest AP. Those statistics are quite misleading - the only kids who take Calc BC are the best math students in the region, so it’s a given that most of them will perform well. In fact, Calc BC and Physics C are much harder than AP US History, which has approximately 10% of 5’s. APUSH has a more spread out distribution because so many kids take it, while only the math/science stars take Calc BC and Phys C.

^Physics C is arguably much harder than Calc BC…
