Which book should I get for ACT diagnostic test?

Hey CC. I took the SAT two times and will be taking it a final time this October. I have never taken the ACT. I have been hearing if SAT isn’t for you, ACT might be, as there are no tricks involved and is very straightforward. I’ve been hearing this for months. As time keeps going faster and faster and registration dates are coming up, I’ve decided to take the ACT in an effort to get a great score to make up for my low SAT score. However, I want to take a diagnostic test first to see if I really do want to focus a lot of my energy on it. Is there a book out there that will accurately evaluate where I stand on ACT? I need a book that has similar tests just like how the BlueBook is for SAT. This is because if I am at below 30, I’m not even going to bother or try to study. So please list a book that has tests that will have similar scores to ones I will receive on one i take on test day. Thanks!

The Real ACT, commonly referred to as the red book, will be perfect for you. It’s pretty much the ACT equivalent of the blue book.
If you ONLY want to do a diagnostic test, I suggest printing one out from online before you go out and buy a book.

There is a lot of information about the test at the beginning, but you don’t need to print it all out. Pages 12 - 51 are the actual test.
