Which Business Concentration should I choose?

HELP!!! I am a Business student and I am drawing near my time to choose a concentration, but i don’t know which area to concentrate in.

Personality-wise I am considered an ISTJ (Quiet serious; earn success by thoroughness and dependability.Practical, matter of fact, realistic and responsible.Decide logically what should be done and work towards it steadily regardless of distractions.Take pleasure in making everything orderly and organised-work, home and life.Value traditions and loyalty.)

However I do sometimes enjoy socializing with others. I am a good communicator and I enjoy public speaking(sometimes), organizing(things, people, events) and planning things. I am also quite artistic with an interest in literature, reading, writing, speaking, and also the fine arts. Accounting does NOT appeal to me whatsoever and I am not very mathematically and technologically inclined.

Also suggestions on the most marketable and in-demand careers

Which concentration/ blends of concentrations will allow me to put my strengths and abilities in use?

The concentrations offered at my school are:
-Accounting
-Entrepreneurship and Innovation
-Finance
-Human Resource Management
-International Business
-Management Information Systems
-Operations Management
-Marketing
-Management

That’s tough. I’ll list each major and give my thinking on it from what you’ve said about yourself.

-Accounting - this is out because you said you don’t like it at all.
-Entrepreneurship and Innovation - this is also out because it requires a high energy level, not ideal for ISTJ
-Finance - this is out for you because there is too much math and accounting
-Human Resource Management - Again, not a good idea for ITSJ
-International Business - This could be a possibility, but there aren’t a lot of jobs out there…it’s kind of a soft major
-Management Information Systems - this would be good, but you said you’re not technologically inclined.
-Operations Management - This is what I’m majoring in, and you have to
-Marketing - This translates to sales
-Management - This is a soft degree, I don’t recommend it for anyone.

So I guess the best might be Finance or MIS if you can get past the math and technology stuff.

Good luck

I have an MS in Operations Management and I can tell you math/tech skills are important in this major.

I would suggest MIS, operations mgmt, or marketing. You may not be technologically inclined but, any job you have will most likely use technology. You can learn to be comfortable with it, and it will benefit you. I think that marketing might require you to be more outgoing than you wish to be. MIS would probably be my first choice for you because you are both organized and logical.
