Which Calc Sequence?

C/D

or

K/L/M

???

I’m looking to transfer into engineering next year (I’m entered as undecided right now) so I would need to maintain a good GPA this year.

What would you guys suggest?

C/D is a lot easier in my opinion. If you are able to keep up with the new topics every lecture, do this

KLM goes deep into calculus and is a burden sometimes.

CD covers the same material as KLM except in 2 semesters instead of 3, and engineers do the CD route because they have a lot more math, physics, and programming that they need to get to in their coursework.

While KLM may make you learn a bit more “filler” information, it was easier for me to make a higher grade in. CD is the same information, just faster.

CD… KLM is full of BS Physics applications and stuff.

when a class has prerequisite of D, if i have M done, does it means i meet the prerequisite for it?

Ok I have heard that CD is extremely difficult.

I have not taken AP Calc in High School.

My math level goes up to Pre-Calc which i took over the summer in community college and I found it really really easy (might have just been easy course?).

Anyway, do you think I will be fine jumping into the C/D sequence?

The whole time I was doing pre-calc, I had moments where I would say to myself “THAT IS SOOO COOL, W.T.F.” so I think I do have an interest in math but at the same time I don’t want to take a course that would be wayyyy over my head.

I am also willing to work hard.

Should I jump into C/D?

I’m just worried about it affecting my GPA. I want a 3.5 or higher.

C is definitely cool. And fun. And challenging as well =).

M covers topics that D does not cover so the sequences are NOT the same. (for my prof anyways)

C/D is a lot easier considering you are only skimming. You learn how to do something, and then test over it within a week or two. KLM drags on and can get VERY burdensome. Take C and if you don’t like it, you can switch to L the following semester.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys! I’m definitely more confident now!

what do you guys think of n/s/m?
I’m a bio major and i signed up for 408s - should i change to 408d??
I didn’t know about the different sequences when i signed up, and not sure if my 5 on the calc ab test will give me credit for 408n (it definitely covers c and k though)
FYI i’d rather take the easiest course!!
