Which calculator do you prefer?

I've been using the TI-84, but the 89-Titanium edition is preferable (to me, at least) when I'm under time constraints (clearly, when taking the math bit of the SAT). Opinions?

I like my TI-84, but I don't have an -89. I wouldn't want to switch back and forth routinely.

I prefer using both at the same time. I use the 84 for graphing and the 89 for equation solving.

^Same, but mainly for actual math competitions, not the SAT.

You shouldn't need a ti89 or even a ti84 to do the test. That said, the differences are minimal until you reach a high level of calculus (89's are useful in Calc 3). The only reason why I even use a graphic calculator is because of the large display and automatic storage function. I rarely find myself actually needing to graph (though it is occasionally a fast shortcut.)

Yeah, I only used the 84 for the PSAT Math sections (and the SAT Math sections when I take the SAT, I assume), since I think I only used the calculator for computations. However, the 89 is very useful on the Math II exam, if that means anything.

I have a TI Inspire and it is kickin ass.

I've heard good and bad things about the NSpire. Do you recommend it?

I love the TI-89 Titanium, especially its equation-solving feature.

If you're still having a hard time deciding, here are a couple of reviews comparing the nspire, nspire cas, ti-89, ti-84. There are even videos comparing them.

Graphing calculators isn't really necessary for the SAT. A scientific calculator would do.

If you're going into Calculus later on, TI-89 all the way.

Graphing calculators may not be necessary, but they sure are handy.

Note: TI-89s are generally superior to 84s, but a few things ban it.

I like the 89.

I like the TI86, maybe because I'm most comfortable with that one than the 89 or 84.
