Act: 23composite, math and English: 25, writing:24 and science: 18
ECs: GT internship class enrollment at a different campus from school, HOSA activities, community emergency participation, school spitit groups, lab internships, aviation engineering internship
Extra: first in the family to go to college in u.s, therefore didn’t know much about admissions and importance of different things, and also the reason to be really late to apply, my primary motive for u.s: better education
Two way about majors: pre-med or engineering
From the above can u please tell me the best university in California that would accept me? My dream one is Stanford but it’s out of my reach. I always dreamed of going to the best university in the world, but I just started getting dumber and dumber since my sophomore year!!!

<p>It would make sense to have a better feel for your major. Pre-med and engineering are different paths. Since you have been active in HOSA, you must have some interest in a health sciences career.</p>
<p>You are not ‘dumb’. Your GPA is very competitive for many schools, although not for Stanford.</p>

<p>Yes!!! I don’t have anyone else at all helping with my College apps or anything! people think I cant do it cuz I am very quiet. I moved countries for better education and I’m not gonna let that go to waste.
My gpa got low sophomore year cuz of some problems but I was able to pull that up.

<p>You need at least a 3.4 to be eligible for UC. For CSU, minimum eligibility is given here for non-California residents:

<p>However, most UC and CSU campuses are more selective than the minimum eligibility standards.</p>
<p>But what may be more important is the cost. UCs, with non-resident list prices over $50,000 per year, may give financial aid, but not to cover the approximately $22,000 per year non-resident additional tuition. CSUs are less expensive with list prices somewhat over $30,000 per year, but will probably give little or nothing for financial aid.</p>
<p>So you may want to look at private schools which give decent financial aid, as well as Texas public universities. Another option is to attend a community college and then transfer as a junior to a Texas public university, since your class rank probably limits your selection of Texas public universities as a freshman.</p>

you will not be able to financially afford any California public university. You will not get any financial aid, and OOS cost is very high.
Apply to Texas colleges.
Texas has much better average financial aid than California, and if you are a Texas resident and international student you can fill TAFSA application and get some Texas grants for residents who don’t meet FAFSA criteria.</p>

Do you have anything like AVID or Communities at schools in your school where you can get help?</p>
<p>I am not sure, but I believe you might need help obtaining TAFSA application. It is not available online, it’s a paper application that you can get from college financial aid office or from high school counselor directly.</p>
