CCC: Diablo Valley College
GPA: Still a freshman haha :stuck_out_tongue:
Applying to: UCB, UCLA (next year)
Major: Math (:
I love my school so far, although the student population is probably the same at any CCC, a mix of everything ahaha. But I love how beautiful the campus is and the fact that it’s not exactly in the middle of nowhere ^^

@Ferrari yeah if I don’t get in I’ll apply next year.

CCC=Sacramento City College
GPA=3.92
Apply to UCLA, UCB, UCSD, USC,
Major Anthropology
What do you think about the school? I’m thankful for giving me a chance to transfer.
Are you ready for UC? Absolutely!

@leo4557 It’s not too personal at all. I think it was a combination of a lot of things. First of all beginning in the application process, I was doing everything last minute as a senior in highschool or whatever. I was with my dad and applied to CSUs that my dad said were good and I took his word for it. I chose to major in Earth Science merely because it sounded interesting and I got in. First off, the demographics are so much more different than we’re from. The % white and asians are basically swapped. It was sort of like a culture shock almost, and the type of people there were really different than the bay area folk. Everyone there drank and partied and were pretty crazy. I don’t drink or party so I was sorta out of the loop. Then I was getting homesick, and I also wanted to change majors which is difficult at SLO. I could’ve stayed the year and did GEs but I didn’t want to waste any time so I came back after the quarter. I also didn’t like the fact that it was 3 hours from any type of big city. 3hr from LA, 3hr from SF. =\ middle of no where college.

Basically…I didn’t fit. haha (I did still find a few cool people at SLO, but it just wasn’t for me.

CCC: Foothill College
GPA: around 3.8
Apply to: Berkeley, San Diego, Irvine, Santa Cruz
Major: Computer Science
What do you think about the school?
Honestly? Not a huge fan. My first year was at a different two year school, and it was a lot better. Counselors actually cared about the students, paperwork wasn’t constantly denied, classrooms were better equipped, classes didn’t fill up as quickly, etc. It’s not all bad here, the professors seem okay for the most part, the people are nice, and the campus is pretty, but there are definitely things that could be better.
Are you ready for UC? Sure, it’ll be nice to have maths to take again.

CCC=Not saying.
GPA=3.7ish, possibly 3.9 or 3.4 depending on my Fall grades
Apply to UCLA, UCB, UCSB, UCD, some private schools
Major: Political Science
What do you think about the school? Mediocre. Professors are overwhelmed. The younger instructors are very nice and accommodating, but the senior staff don’t seem to care much. Sometimes you get a really cool older teacher, but usually they’re just unreasonable and don’t appreciate current student realities.
Are you ready for UC? Anything but here. I cannot stand one more day of community college.

@sanFK? Why? haha

CCC=[Pasadena City College]
GPA=[3.6] Will rise this fall =]]]]
Apply to [UCB,UCLA,UCSD,UCSB,UCR,UCI,USC]
Major [Business Econ, Business Admin, Math/Econ]
What do you think about the school? [Beautiful, way too many students, hard to get the classes or professor u wanted, and parking slot way over the top early semester. Estimated 30 -40mins to find a space. If you think you can just go here and fool around, this is not the right school for you. It will kill you deep down badly until you realize that you have no chance to get into UC system. Math department is hella hard, competitive, and ASIAN =]]] 95% are Asian in my differe equation. Hot girls? YES.]

Are you ready for UC? [I don’t really care. At long I can have a good life]

CCC=[Pasadena City College]
GPA=[3.6, but hopefully better after next spring]
Apply to [UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCI, UCR, USC]
Major [Business Administration / Busniess Economics]
What do you think about the school? [I’ve come to like it, despite how awful my friends say it is. Lots of slackers, but also some very smart people. Same can be said about professors, although I’ve been lucky and have always had pretty good ones. I was ready to leave last year, but changed my major. Now, I can’t wait to get out.]
Are you ready for UC? [I hope so.]

@ Fer

because I don’t know who reads these forums.

CCC=Pasadena City College
GPA= Right now is about 3.32. After this semester, it will probably be 3.4+ Getting all A’s in my classes and taking 19 units.
Applied to UCSB, UCI, UCSD, UCR. Honestly, the only school I am looking forward to is UCSB. My real major is Accounting, and UCSB offers a great program for my major. And I am kind of sick of all these math classes for schools like UCI and UCSD.
Major: Economics and Accounting/Business Admin, Business Economics
What do you think about the school? Awesome school, but I think 3 years here is enough. Classes are hard to get because we have tons of students here. But I enjoy the experience here. Also, I met lots of GREAT people here. This place will be missed when I transfer.
Are you ready for UC? Hope so. I just want to experience an independent life and hope that it will help me grow to better person.

WOW, great to see many pccERs here. Awesome, and wow pcc and business major hahahaha.

thanks tall

I will probably visit the university before I transfer if i get accepted.

@PCC’ers
I go to PCC and GCC. In the morning I’m at PCC and in the afternoon I’m at GCC. There are a lot of cute girls here, but compared to the previous years, there are less cute Asians. Just saying. The science building is filled with them though, no matter what time. Also, it’s not that hard to get classes UNLESS it’s Math or Science. I was a Pharmaceutical major but after not being able to get Chem101 after 3 semesters, I ended up changing to Linguistics.

@iMunster
I am also a student at PCC. So I tried to take everything that has Linguistics on it. So currently, this semester, I have PsychoLing, Ling Anthro, Intercultural Linguistics, and then I have Liddiard for Ling101 in GCC. I already took my Cultural Anthro at PCC. Korean for the 2nd semester this incoming Spring at GCC.

^ You sound good to go. I also wanted to take some other Linguistics courses at PCC but they did not offer anything during the winter and I simply don’t have the time to spread myself across 3 different CC’s in the spring for that. I have to take Spanish 4 @ ELAC next spring because it won’t be offered at GCC ): and Chinese 2 at GCC ;D

But yeah! Liddiard is awesome. Loved his class.

iMunster I don’t like Liddiard. Good thing we have to retake intro to long anyways.

Really? His class was a breeze and it was very enjoyable to me. How many languages are you taking?

I took AP Spanish in HS. I might begin taking Japanese but I don’t know on which school yet. So far all I have is Korean.

Yeah. Liddiard is indeed a breeze but you don’t really learn much.
