Which Christmas Cookie Are YOU?? What Your Favorite Says About You

Old fashioned shortbread.

In the Scottish Highlands, white flour and cane sugar are luxuries, but we prize our cattle, and we take our butter seriously. Crisco is a sin. In the afternoon, a chunk of shortbread tastes good with a cuppa tea. In the evening we trade in the tea for a glass of single-malt whiskey (or two or five) but no matter what you pair it with, the shortbread tastes just as fine and buttery.

Now you need to picture me in a wool cardigan sweater and three days of stubble on my cheeks. A pooch at my feet, and a cat that’s been sitting in my lap for as long as I remember, except I don’t remember when she got there.

Triple chocolate peppermint–even though I haven’t been to Paris…YET!

Although I would like to join @palm715 at the cheese tray, I’ll happily bring the wine if you’d like, red or white?

No lemon bars on the list :frowning: i guess i’ll have to make up my own profile.

The traditional holiday cookies from my childhood were Russian tea cakes and date nut squares. So, for sentimental reasons, I’ll go with the Mexican wedding cookies among the ones listed. Linzer cookies get second pkace.

Gimme a glass of wine, and any cookie will do! I am with nottelling and CF here… Mexican wedding cookies.

Nottelling, lemon bars are a holiday must at my house too!

Since it’s unlikely you can all read my mind, I’ll elaborate on my favorite Christmas cookie, the pecan sandi. It’s a very sweet holiday treat, made with southern nuts. One goes a long way. Some don’t care for this cookie at all. Others just love it.

I’m cut out sugar cookies. “Cheerful and energetic”. Well sure I am after all of that sugar.

My favorites are spritz (made with butter, not too sweet - kind of like a shortbread), and a molasses spice cookie from Southern Livng years ago, and those dump it in the pan ones with graham cracker crumbs, sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips.

Do I get to write my own profile?
“You want to be a minimalist and organized but you haven’t seen the bare surface of your desk in a decade. You love and are loyal to your friends and family but sometimes avoid the ones who are bugging you lately. You waste far too much time online. You are too picky, and expect anything that you pay someone else to do to turn out much better than you could have done it yourself, instead of just being grateful that it’s done.”
