Which Christmas Cookie Are YOU?? What Your Favorite Says About You

Completely unscientific. Just for fun. Not a “test” but think about your favorite Christmas/Holiday cookie and then look on this list and see the closest fit - and who that determines you to be…(no fair, saying you’re all these traits because you love ALL cookies!!!)

I’ll give you permission to narrow down to two at the most.

Me:
The Best Rugelach Cookies
You are strong and fearless

and

Triple-Chocolate Peppermint Thumbprint Cookie
You are easygoing and routine-oriented.

(I say this is a 3/4 for me. I can be strong mentally. I think I’m easygoing. I am definitely routine oriented. Fearless? No so much)

My favorite is the cut-out sugar cookie (but this year they’re coming from Cheryl’s, so I guess I’m not so energetic).

pecan sandi

The one on the plate in front of me…

Cheese plate. I’m going for competitive-level holiday weight gain. Once I’ve cleared all the cheese, someone point me to the fudge made with marshmallow fluff, and I’ll waddle over.

Mexican Wedding Cookies (without the spices–I know them as “Russian Teacakes”):

“You are creative and introverted. You dream of moving to a farm with your partner and cats, and staying inside. You’d make homemade pizza and play old board games that your parents saved. You’d build a fire and light candles and listen to the wind howl outside. You’re a writer.”

True, pretty much. Except for the homemade pizza. I’d be baking cookies or bread. Or popping popcorn.

Also, I’m sorry, I didn’t stay true to the point of the thread. Per the link:

Gingerbread Cookies
You are a soulful and giving person. During the holidays your favorite thing to do is invite people over for a couple of appetizers and some mulled wine. You take care of the things you own, especially in your home. You are detail-oriented, but not obsessive. You keep your friends very close.

Love it!

Chocolate Chip and Toffee Shortbread Cookies
You are very hardworking. You’ve always had a Type A personality. You’re organized and always the last one in the office, but when it comes to cooking and home life, you like to find shortcuts to make things easier. In your spare time you’re always on Pinterest searching for easy hacks.

The finding shortcuts part is true, except I use google rather than pinterest. Oh, and I traded work for homeschooling long ago, but transferred the same approach to buying/building/remodeling our last eight houses.

Chocolate Chip Cookies from scratch-

You are determined and loyal. You know what you like and don’t like, and nobody is going to change your mind. Sometimes people might describe you as stubborn, but they just don’t understand. You probably love animals, and enjoy being active. You are always there for your friends.

I can agree with this. I don’t really consider chocolate chip cookies Christmas cookies but they are, by far, my favorite cookie. And they do have to be made from scratch.

What Onward said! That is what I ended up with, too. Just add some red and green sprinkles and they can masquerade as XMAS cookies.

The wedding cookies. Yum!!! (but not the spiced version!!!)

You are creative and introverted. You dream of moving to a farm with your partner and cats, and staying inside. You’d make homemade pizza and play old board games that your parents saved. You’d build a fire and light candles and listen to the wind howl outside. You’re a writer.

There ya go! Now most of you get how this thread works!!!

I agree about the wedding cookies - wonder what makes them spicey?! Ginger?

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Those spices are fine, but not in the wedding cookies!!!

another vote for Chocolate Chip Cookies from scratch–
You are determined and loyal. You know what you like and don’t like, and nobody is going to change your mind. Sometimes people might describe you as stubborn, but they just don’t understand. You probably love animals, and enjoy being active. You are always there for your friends.

And, I will add, the only people in the world who make Chocolate Chip cookies as good as mine are my mother who taught me, and my daughter whom I taught.

Gingerbread cookies and spritz. I also love rum balls but they’re not really a cookie and pfefferneuse, but I never bake them myself.

For gingerbread cookies, I a soulful and generous person. None of the others are on the list! Really? Doesn’t everyone make spritz?

Not me!! No spritz. No one in our family makes them. I know of them, but they don’t grace our plates!

Peanut Butter Blossoms
Okay… I am not chic, but I can be sassy. I grew up in a city of 100,000 people and now live in a city of about 300,000. I can’t sing (but I love to!) or dance or perform. The only clothing item I ever made was an a-line skirt in home ec class in junior high. My grade - C+ - and I’m sure the teacher was being kind. I am somewhat successful and super busy, and I do still make time to call my mom every day.

Pumpkin Snickerdoodle Cookies

You love crossword puzzles and gardening. You wake up early in the morning and make yourself a cup of coffee while you watch the sunrise. You like painting the nature in your backyard – especially birds. Every once in a while you’ll go out with close friends and have a couple glasses of red wine, but you don’t like getting too crazy.

Mexican Wedding Cakes, leave out the spices and use toasted pecans. Mmm.

“You are creative and introverted.” --> Maybe not creative, but definitely introverted.

Or Peanut Butter Blossoms, which I’m in the middle of making right now.

“You are chic and sassy.” --> Chic? No way. Sassy? Yeah, probably.

Nutty fingers

You are the family eccentric: creative, extroverted, and can always be counted on to say something inappropriate or opinionated at Christmas dinner.
