Which class is easier at De anza

I need to take the USC equivalent of WRIT130 which is either

EWRT 001B OR
EWRT 001C OR
EWRT 002 OR
PHIL 003

Which one is easier? I have to take 1 of those 4 classes

Like any class, I feel, it will depend on the professor.

I took EWRT 2 with Edie Matthews, and she was awesome. Very nice older lady who did her best to make the class entertaining, but still educational and worth the students’ time.

I took EWRT 1B with Roseanne Quinn, and she too was awesome. Very quirky lady who used really interesting readings and texts to explore course topics - from classic fiction to teen genre, and she used other mediums like movies and stuff.

For these particular professors, I felt the work in EWRT 2 was more continuous (constant flow of turn-in assignments), but required less time to complete - mostly small reading responses with a few essays spread out throughout the course. I felt the work in EWRT 1B was more involved, but also more sporadic. It was more discussion-based (as opposed to turn-in writing response) with a handful of essays spread throughout, just like 002. I felt like Quinn’s 1B class required work strictly on essays (and in-class essay exams), while Matthews’s was a steady stream of weekly small writing responses with a presentation and few essays thrown in there (as well as in-class essay exams).

“Easy” is a subjective measure, but I think technically Quinn’s 1B required less work compared to Matthews’s 002 course. Personally I found both “easy” because the professors made the course engaging, entertaining, and fostered a great learning environment.

Best of luck.
