Which clubs/teams feed into which eating club?

Hey everyone. As a freshman I notice the clubs/teams you’re in seem to impact the direction of one’s social life a lot and I was curious with how this would play out with one’s future eating club. I had a friend of mine mention that triangle club for example feeds into tower (if im not mistaken?). Which clubs or sport teams would you say correlate/feed heavily into which eating club?

Cap & Gown is almost all athletes. Most crew and many swimmers join Cloister, though it has been struggling of late.

Ha! some things never change. Back in the mid 90s (when I was at Princeton), Tower was for aspiring DC types/diplomats (from the school that we then called Woody Woo) and drama geeks. (affectionately known as the toolshed). Cap was athletes. Cloister went from being basically empty to getting taken over by the crew teams. Ivy was New York posh. Cottage was southern posh (and I think specific frats/sororities tended to bicker Ivy/Cottage). TI had a legendarily sodden bicker process and they were more egalitarian than their across-the-street brethren – you just had to keep up. Quad, Colonial, DEC (Dial-Elm-Cannon), and Charter were pretty normcore (probably subject to takeovers by various teams like Cloister). I think Charter had a solid dose of engineers – proximity to the E-Quad was a boon. Campus (RIP) was briefly a place for stoners and deadheads (some crossover w/ TI) but they were evolving away from that when I was in school. They had a great chef and Yuengling beers on tap and they brought in a lot of ska bands. Terrace was Terrace Flaming Club – used to have the best food on the street (by a mile), and it was the refuge of those who were queer, artsy, too cool for school. Some of the officers had heroin problems. They had crazy theme parties in lieu of formals. Terrace was also the place where real bands (as opposed to cover bands) showed up. I saw Magnetic Fields, Superchunk, Sun Ra, Leo Kottke, Stereolab, Elliott Smith…

Really! Whenever I think athletes I think of cannon, I assumed cap was just narps. I think some teams like wrestling feed into ti and sailing into ivy? Or would sailing be cloister

Cap and Gown was all athletes in like the 80s or 90s. There’s now like two to three-ish fencing guys, a women’s heavyweight rower, and the rest are all people of various ethnic backgrounds and a sizeable LGBTQ+ population. Athletes primarily join Cannon (90% athletes in a ~200 person club), Cottage (think field hockey, some football, some baseball, some lacrosse, one rowing person that I know of), and Ivy (heavy on rowing and some other sports).

Current member of Cannon so I can share some insight.

Cannon: Search up “OUR ATHLETES – 21 Prospect Ave”. This covers pretty much everything with the exception of 2023 Fall bickerees (another football guy, a swimmer, a runner, like 15-20 others, and some NARPs, or non-athletic regular people)
Cottage: Golf, some of baseball, some of football, field hockey, squash, water polo (?), rugby (?), there’s like a rower there but idk if they have a big prescence there
TI: water polo (?), ik like one squash guy there, the rest I’m not too sure honestly (a couple of rowers)
Ivy: Rowing and then some other ones

For clubs, dance groups can feed into places (Bodyhype has presence in everywhere but especially Cap and TI, ethnic dance groups like Naacho and T8 can feed into Cap, Ballet feeds into Cap, TI, occasional Ivy, disiac is up in the air). Not too sure about a capella but the cloutier ones have people in TI and Ivy (think like TigerTones, Tigerlillies, Tigressiosn). Really frats and sororities are the big ones that feed people into TI, Ivy, and Cottage.

TI: Phi Delt, some of Chi Phi, some of Theta (sorority)
Ivy: Use to be SAE but ¯_(ツ)_/¯, Chi Phi, APEs, Zete (Zeta Psi), Theta and Pi Phi (another sorority)
Cottage: KA, Pi Phi

The rest of the frats idk and no one cares about Kappa Kappa Gamma.
