I just started my first year at UC Santa Cruz. I found the classes to be incredibly easy, blowing through first semester with less than an hour of study a day and still maintaining a 4 A+s and 1 A. This is taking the hardest Math, CS, and Core classes possible.
I screwed up in sophomore and freshman year in HS from messing with the wrong crowd. I had a 2.9 GPA in both years. I worked harder and finished junior year with a 3.8 and senior year with a 4.1 but it was a bit too late.
What are the chances of me transferring after next year to a more challenging Computer Science program, perhaps UCLA or UCSD? I’d prefer to stay in-state or be able to receive good scholarship/financial aid for out of state/private schools.
too bad you messed it up a lil bit
but your chances are BIG, but what about extraculliculars? you know you are from UC system university so its much easier to transfer to same system unis. go do it bruv! but dont forget about extraculliculars
I’m currently a organizer for our LOL club as well as a member of Linux Club, Tabletop Games Club, and Anime Club.
You can’t transfer till fall 2018 (apply fall 2017) and UC to UC transfers are rare - first come CA cc to UC transfers.
However if you keep up the good grades you’ll be a decent prospect for another UC (not necessarily the ones you listed).
