I’ve been accepted to Westmont college and am applying to the University of La Verne and I was just wondering which school would look better for medical school. While it shouldn’t sway med school decisions I was just curious as to which school would look more prestigious or rigorous?
It does not matter where you go for Undergrad if you plan to pursue Medical School. You want to attend a college, where you can get a high GPA and have access to medically related volunteer/internship opportunities. Medical Schools are only interested in your GPA/MCAT score and your EC’s. Both schools offer the required courses needed to apply to Medical school, so choose the school which “fits” you best.
“In the past two decades, over 90% of Westmont students who followed our premedical program and applied to medical school were accepted.” http://www.westmont.edu/_academics/prehealth/pre-health-info.html
Also, it’s important to consider the opportunities you will have to conduct research with faculty. http://www.westmont.edu/admissions/academics.html
