which college is better?

Miami University(Florida)

or

Boston University

which of these colleges would I have a better chance at dental school and which school is easier to get into?

Miami University is in Ohio. The one in FL is the University of Miami. UM is better! Hah well I’m a student there so obviously I’m biased. But, really they are two pretty different schools so some factors you might want to consider are:

Weather: warm year-round in Miami vs harsh winters in Boston
Campus: a distinct green campus at Miami vs no central campus at BU
Sports: Great D1 sports program (and school spirit) at Miami vs nothing major at BU, except maybe hockey… I don’t really know

I’m not entirely sure which school is harder to get into. I would guess Miami just because their admitted percentage is around 20% less than BU (although that could depend on a lot of different factors) and UM’s average SAT/ACT is slightly higher, I believe. As far as getting into dental school, I have no idea. But, I’m doing pre-med at UM and the sciences are very strong there.

Does UM offer generous aid? The school seems expensive and Im not a steller student so I don’t know how much I can recieve.

Yeah, UM is very generous with aid. You can see which merit scholarships you would qualify for here:
[Academic Scholarships for 2008-2009 | University of Miami](http://www6.miami.edu/UMH/CDA/UMH_Main/0,1770,29532-1;44908-2;29913-2;46413-2,00.html)

Also, they’re slightly lenient when it comes to the top “X”% thing for each scholarship. For example, for the Trustee scholarship you need a minimum 30 ACT and top 10% class rank. But, I know someone who was top 12% with a 31 ACT and he got it anyways. And, of course, there’s always need-based aid as well.

Singer Scholarship looks pretty sweet.

Both are just as expensive, u might also wanna consider a cheaper in state option just in case.

Nevertheless, Financial aid awards at both BU and UM are extremely high. I didnt qualify for academic scholarships at neither BU or UM but got half of my tuition cut by financial aid grants. the rest covered on federal loans (some with no interest).

Ended up picking UM because of Weather and the Sports scene.
Campus at BU didnt seem to nice either. Much rather preferred BC’s campus.
