Cornell is a HUGE reach for me, almost impossible. But it’d be nice to know which college i should apply to that’ll give me the best chance of being accepted c:

my 3 choices are:
AEM
COE
CAS

Some things that might influence which college is easiest/hardest to get into:

Gender: female

Major EC:
(computer science and business related)
Own online business that’s made 5 figures, donated portion of this (did this all on my own with no help)

Major awards:
none really… 3rd place in a regional science fair (affiliated with intel)

Because I heard it’s easier to get into engineering if you’re a girl…? But Cornell also bases it on fit, so I’m not too sure where they would deem the best fit

Definitely not CAS, 15% acceptance, and Dyson is one of the best Undergrad Business programs, with an acceptance rate of 14.5%. Engineering is also difficult, below 20%. Human Ecology has the “highest” acceptance rate, but you should know the applicant pool to Cornell’s specialized schools, especial HumEc and AAP, are extremely self-selected. You will be competing with students who have real passion for those fields. And, in order to compete, your academic credentials and extra-curriculars must match up to that College.

Good Luck. There is no “easy” way into Cornell, or any Ivy.

The easiest one for you to get into is the one you fit best with. If you have a better “fit” at CAS, you will have a better chance of getting in there regardless of the slightly higher engineering rate.
If Cornell is that important to you, you might want to consider applying ealry decision (the acceptance rate is much higher on paper but some people argue that it isn’t really an advantage for some…but at least it shows Cornell that you want to go).

Yes, I agree c: I do think I’m extremely competitive extra-curricular wise and passion-wise. I started making websites in elementary school and have since then grown my own online business and have been very successful at that, earning thousands a year! I’m not too sure whether this would appeal to COE more (girl self learning all the technical work?) or AEM (opening up own business and making so much money at a young age?)

As for my academic credentials… I have pretty high SATs, SAT IIs, and ap test scores. As for my grades…that’s why Cornell is a huge reach ^^;

Engin 35.5
Hum Ec 33.0
Hotel 23.6
ILR 21.6
Ag 20.7
Arts 15.4
Arch 13.7

I’m not sure how useful these stats are because there’s a lot of self selection going on. You’d have to see the SAT/ACT/Grade numbers for each individual college.

Though, isn’t the real question what you want to study? Unless a college has a program that interests you, why would you want to apply there?
