I’m now doing a design degree in my city, the uni isn’t prestigious or anything but I can live with my parents as I’m their only child and my mom wishes to be with me for a few more years (until I graduate my degree). I was fine with it until recently I couldn’t stand my unprofessional lecturers (blaming their own faults on students eg almost starting a fire, bad planning for course outline, cancelling many classes so they can party), not to mention I feel like I’m missing out in terms of learning when I see the work and facilities (which my school lacks a lot, and this is quite important for design courses) other unis provide.
So I decided to apply for degree at a prestigious arts college in Singapore but they said I could only take a diploma so I applied for diploma instead.
I’m 20 this year and I spent the past 18 months studying foundation and degree at my previous uni which I have deferred from. If I get accepted to my new college, should I transfer there? The dilemma is that if I continue where I am, I’ll graduate a bachelor’s degree in 2 years and 3 months, although I won’t learn as much due to many reasons. If I go to the college in Singapore, I’ll graduate diploma and bachelor’s degree in 5 years, and I’ll have to work there for 3 years, I’ll be 28 by the end. However the employment rate of undergrads is 95%, and the college is known for training its students well for the industry, it also has tons of industry giants collaborating with said college all year long, lecturers also come from an internationally renowned background, none of this happens in my current uni.
