I’m currently a hs junior looking at colleges and am looking for more info on my top schools:
-University of Florida
-Bucknell University
-UMass Amherst
-Binghamton University
-UMiami
-Bentley U
-Penn State
I’m thinking that I will study economics or finance with a minor in CS or Information systems. In the future I would like to work as a data analyst or business analyst and eventually get into IT management. In whatever school I choose I want good social life so if anyone has any input on that it would be great ! (Especially Bucknell and Bentley) thanks for any input!!!
Please run the Net Price Calculator on each school’s web site and then discuss the results with your parents. They may not be able to afford all those OOS schools.
UMass Amherst is pretty big and not a gorgeous campus, to be honest. However, they have a great honors college, and the dining hall food has been top ranked for colleges all over the country! Definitely would have a good social vibe I think, with a diversity of students and sports, etc.
If you like Bucknell and want to combine econ/finance with CS, Lehigh should definitely be on your list as well. http://catalog.lehigh.edu/coursesprogramsandcurricula/interdisciplinaryundergraduatestudy/computerscienceandbusinessprogram/#undergraduatetext
A geographic outlier but hard to beat for CS+business is the Raikes School at UNL. https://raikes.unl.edu/ It’s a competitive honors program (average SAT/ACT 1480/33.5) and many accepted students get merit toward the already-affordable COA, and many professional opportunities. Lincoln has a great reputation as a fun college town.
