Which colleges should I apply to??

I live in NYC and my family is VERY poor (we get food stamps)

I’m a rising senior; my courses are all non-APs, yet I have an ~80 school average, and a decreasing trend at that (Bad thing.) The only good thing about me is my 2200 SAT score. I also took an AP exam for a course I did not take (AP Psyc) and scored a 3 out of 5, which is probably bad as well. I’m also Asian and female (bad thing?)

It’s the summer and I WANT to do something useful (haven’t done any extracurriculars,) but it’s July and I haven’t applied for anything! I’m trying now and a lot of internships for high schoolers were due APRIL. I must have lived under a rock. What internships are still accepting? Preferably science/computer/biology related, or anything applicable? Are there any websites I can look at?

I would like to get into a good college to become a good doctor making a living curing sick people without falling deep into debt and poor the rest of my life. Please give me your advice!! Thanks

Since you live in NYC, you should look at some of the CUNY colleges. They are very affordable and you are a good candidate for Baruch and Brooklyn College. Plus, Brooklyn College has a beautiful campus!

Thank you! I’ll look into those!

apply to all schools that have a free application and give out significant scholarships. I know Case Western gives has a free Common App application and has one of the nations best medical and engineering programs. Case also gives out a good number of scholarships (I’ve seen people get 30k a year scholarships) through pure merit (which does not include need based scholarships) which drops their CoA down to ~28-29k.
