Which colleges should I look at, or which ones can I get into?

I’m a sophomore in high school right now and I want to know what good and well-known colleges I can get into. I want to double major in political science/government and international relations. I was looking at Georgetown and GWU mostly. I messed up my freshmen year and got a 3.6 GPA (because of a D in Bio Honors). Currently i have a 3.9 GPA. I took 3 honors classes last year, and 2 honors classes and 1 AP class this year. Next year I’m taking 1 honors class and 3 APs. My senior year I’m also taking 1 honors class and 3 APs. I’m taking and going to take a lot of classes geared towards my desired majors (Comparative Gov’t and Politics AP, US Gov’t AP, AP Euro, Politics and Gov’t, Finance and Economic, Criminal and Civil Law, etc.). I’m in about 10 clubs and have 20 (and counting) hours of community service. I’m going to apply for NHS next year. Is it possible for me to get into Georgetown? Any Ivies? Thanks!

GWU: Aim for 2100 on the SAT/31+ on the ACT
Georgetown: 2100+/31+ makes G-Town reachable
Tufts: See Georgetown (you said that you wanted to do IR/pol-sci)

This information isn’t honestly much to go on. Your SAT/ACT scores factor in greatly. Also, do something you really ENJOY. 10 clubs doesn’t impress colleges; a few that you are really involved/have a leadership position in does. You can definitely apply to Ivies but make sure you have a majority of schools that aren’t such a reach. No one can depend on getting into an Ivy, but that certainly doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. Keep up the good work!
