Hey guys! So I was looking at several community colleges and i’ve cut my list down to a few. I live close to Chabot and Laney but Laney is a bit further. Laney offers two more classes for my major classes. Should I go to Laney for those extra classes? I can probably do my general ed at Chabot and still go to Laney afterwards. Thoughts?
it is not at all uncommon for students to attend more than one CC to secure the classes they need.
Thank you @NCalRent
Go to both.
Although Laney is in the Peralta College system, any courses you take there rather than Chabot will be listed equally within your application to any UC/CSU’s.
Be sure that you see a Transfer counselor as soon as you can, to make sure that classes taken at either institution qualify for transfer to your target school(s). Not all classes are created equally when it comes to Transfer.
Do whatever you can to get all your major prereq classes done and make sure you can be IGETC certified at one school. Different CCs have different criteria for IGETC certification.
