I’m wondering which degree will give me the most knowledge of the stock market. I’m guessing it’s accounting, finance, or economics?

Usually Finance/Banking. Economics will also serve the purpose, but it doesn’t deal as much with the stock market as finance does. Accounting is a bit different, as its focus is more on financial reporting.

Cronyism ?

Finance. Most business related degrees tend to have some finance requirement. But, Finance will give you the most breadth.

major in math/stat and learn the biz/fin stuff on your own - looks better on paper
