In terms of job prospects and salary, which option would be better, a degree from UCLA in statistics or a degree from UC San Diego in computer science. I prefer to stay in the LA area, but I wouldn’t mind moving. My biggest goal is to go to Business school for an MBA.

CS for job prospects and salary, but CS isn’t the best option for your goals. Why not Math of Computation at UCLA if you want to stay in LA?

Getting a degree in CS just to pursue an MBA doesn’t make sense IMO .

@CSB111 Math of Computation doesn’t have that many computer science courses. You only have room for three computer science courses if you want to graduate in two years. Plus I am scared of taking proof bases math classes like Real Analysis. Statistics gives me much more leeway since fewer classes are required to graduate.

Well you can take CS31-33, which lay a really good basis, and then pick 3 relevant upper divisions, and you could take math classes that are relevant to CS. (I think you can take more than 3 too). You could also look at Math/Econ, which I think only requires two real proofing classes, and it could set you up for an MBA down the line.
