Which dorm style is better?

<p>I’m probably going to end up at U. Nebraska, and there is currently two housing offers that really interest me.</p>

<li><p>Business student housing. I myself will be an economics major, but from what I understand, going into these type of learning enviornments where everyone is in the same concentration, typically yields a higher average GPA. The downfall is the dorm room is the typical double room. The dorm as a whole also doesn’t look as nice.</p></li>
<li><p>A super-double room. They also offer super-double rooms which is the size of a triple, but only with two people. The rooms are about 20-25sqft bigger. The dorm has also been renovated, and looks rather impressive for a dorm. The downfall, is I don’t know how well “academically motivated” the floor would be in a regular dorm.</p></li>

<p>I am suprised they give you such a choice. Are you a transfer? I would always go with the bigger room. Most dorm rooms are small. I would go with any living arrangement that forces you to seek out other people. Live as close to real life as possible</p>

<p>As long as you are motivated to get good grades, to me I would think you would end up with the same grades either way. Its not like you won’t be meeting people in your econ classes…
I am a BME major and there are probably 12 BME majors on my floor… I have never studied with any of them… It’s your choice…</p>

<p>I’ve got a single room at Vanderbilt, and i think it set new records for smallest dorm room size, but I personally kind of like the small size. I don’t really need much room, but then again, I don’t have a refrigerator or tv. I would go with the small room and go with the better grades. I would focus on doing everything possible to get the good grades first, and social life second. just a thought!</p>

<p>even if it’s not the case, go with the bigger, better room anyway.</p>

<p>The social atmosphere of a dorm can really affect how much you enjoy it, so I understand what you’re saying about the academic motivation of the other dormies. I would go for the nicer dorm. Bigger isn’t necessarily nicer, mind you. I live in one of the “nicest” dorms on my campus, but it also has some of the smallest rooms. I stay for the private bathrooms, though. You said the other one had been recently renovated: I would go with that one.</p>
