Which dorm?

Which dorm and plan (Dining) is your first choice and why?

Go for the lowest dining level because it is not refundable and you can always just use money on your refundable Husky Card.

Cafeteria food at UW is pretty bad according to D., inspite of some awards, so I agree - get the cheapest plan. D recommends freshman dorm (Landers) to meet lots of people right away. UW can be a lonely place, if you don’t make friends in your freshman year, so don’t go for a dorm with a suite for 8 (McMahon) - not enough variety of people or a “quiet” one - people keep their doors closed.

People need to stop being such snobs about the food. It gets old after a while but it’s really not that bad. I’ve ate worse things just going over to my friend’s houses and eating the crappy things their parents make.

That said get the lowest because even if you eat in the dorms every day like me, you won’t use all the money.

S likes McMahon food much more than Lander food( he lives in Lander) , he has lunch in McMahon almost every day, and dinner often. That said, lowest level is the best( S switched to it mid-year, he always had too much money left over) . Living on the honors floor of all-freshman dorm was a great experience for S , he made lots of friends. For next year a group of them got a cluster in McMahon.

I’ve already registered for dorms and the dining level and should have the first priority (for upcoming freshmen) but I did the Gold level (second highest one).
Is it possible for me to change it or will I lose my priority?

It is possible to change your dining level without losing your priority. At the beginning of each quarter, you’ll also have the chance to change your dining level.
