<p>Whats the story about singles at berkeley? Are they not a good idea or are the singles a part of a larger suite? People I know at berk say that singles are the way to go freshman year. Is it hard to meet people while living in a single?</p>
<p>Well, if you’re a social kind of person, you’ll make an effort to be social despite being in a single. If you need a little social prodding to get involved (e.g. me), then doubles are good because you’re placed into the setting.</p>

<p>I went for all triples. I’m a quiet nerd, and it’ll force me to become an extrovert.</p>

<p>True, there are no practice rooms in Unit 3 (and Unit 1 practice rooms have yet to be furnished). But it’s not a huge chore to make the 5 minute trek to Morrison Hall (the music dept.) and practice there.</p>

<p>Units are generally regarded as more social for the fact that you share a comman bathroom and most ppl have dorm rooms open. However, it is truly dependent on the person; if you’re naturally outgoing and social, then the suites, singles, etc. won’t pose a problem to your social life.</p>
<p>Hey, I have two friends at UCB at the moment. The construction at Unit 1 is going to be finished by this fall. That’s what he said to me. </p>
<p>Also, suites are like you share it with other people. Thus, it is like 5 people sharing one bathroom. The rooms are connected so you can see each other. </p>
<p>About rooming with a friend, my two friends roomed with each other and they both got the same room. The thing is that your choices have to be the same. </p>
<p>My friends also say that Foothill is anti-social. Just their opinions however. </p>

<p>Taking it in another way, if you dorm with one person and something goes wrong you won’t have a good roommate at all.</p>
<p>well, if you live in a substance free born, you can not come back to the dorms under the effect of any substances or else you get in big trouble with your RA. if one sneaky enough though, one could get away with it.</p>
<p>Substance free is awesome. People are nicer, quirkier, and it in general leads to a more positive and unique experience. The construction at Unit 1 is for all intents and purposes complete. And yes, Foothill is pretty anti-social, but only in comparison to the Units. It’s not like people don’t talk to each other.</p>
