I am a junior at an imporverished highschool in Hayward. I have been on the varsity tennis team for 2 years as well as a tutor for my school. Sadly, this year, due to other commitments I will have to leave tutoring. Will it impact my college app heavily because I actually enjoyed volunteering tutoring kids. I plan on being a business major or somewhere in the law field. Thanks!
And, if possible should I drop tennis so I can keep on tutoring?
Unless you are applying to a top 25 school, it does not matter. Regarding tennis vs tutoring - do whichever YOU like best. IMHO, that’s the best way to have good ECs.
ECs don’t matter that much. Focus on grades, test scores, essays and LORs, which are much more important.
I agree. Test scores and grades carry much more weight.
