I am debating between the prompts about “the lessons we take from failure” and the one about the “transition from childhood to adulthood” because my essay is about how one of my failures, and what I learned from it, helped me to become more of an adult. So which prompt should I go with?

Either one. As long as the essay addresses the prompt
^Agreed. Which prompt you pick doesn’t matter much. Admissions officers just want to get to know more about you. It seems like either prompt would fit your essay. If you haven’t written it already, try writing it first and worrying about the prompt later.
