I am just wondering which grades admissions officers will be looking at if I am applying regular decision (all have around a January 1st deadline): first term or first semester grades?

First term will end next week and those scores get sent first to colleges, though they are not added to my GPA. At the end of January the semester closes and those are the final grades added to my GPA, so colleges would receive this by the beginning of February.

So which grades are most important to colleges? I am very worried because my first term grades aren’t that good (they never are) but I always pick it up in second term to finish with a strong average for the semester… knowing which is most important would put a little more peace in my mind.

Thanks!
