Which Hall for FSU?

It has come time for me to apply for housing at FSU and I was wondering what halls people prefered. My schedule will mostly consist of science courses so something close to them would be prefered.

I wanted to wait until the 1st of april to apply(when my letter from columbia comes) but was told to do it now since it is a first come first serve system. Also I have accepted that I will probably be denied admission to Columbia and FSU is probably where I will be going so might as well do it now.

The only thing that kills me is the application fee, $225. Luckily if I don’t end up going to FSU, I get $175 back but that is still $50 down the drain.

So back to the question, what halls would you guys suggest?

Not familiar with FSU, but at every school my friends go to and I’ve visited or heard from, classes will be anywhere on campus no matter what your major. Especially when freshman year when you take alot of gen-ed courses. I’ve had an accounting course in a chemistry building, a biology course in a predominantly social sciences building, and a psychology course in an agriculture building. Just something to keep in mind.

When I called on the phone, the gentlemen said that everything was within 15 minutes by walking. I guess location isn’ everything then.

What about in general. What halls are more modern? Offer a descent amount of space?

I would post this on the FSU board.

If you haven’t already gone and applied on the FSU housing website…do it now. You receive a “priority number” as soon as you apply online that determines where you rank with the rest of the class for housing.

If you make Honors - Landis Hall is the Honors dorm and is recently renovated. Virtually all the older east-side dorms are recently renovated and are decent. I’ve told students to avoid Smith Hall and Kellum Hall before, but then current residents post that they really like those dorms’ active social lives.

There are two brand new dorms - Wildwood and DeGraff. They may be available for freshmen.

FSU’s main campus is about 450 acres, so compared to UF it is fairly compact. Give yourself more than 15 minutes to get from class to class, however…unless the classes are in the same building.

Gator Bait!
