Honestly, I do not have a problem with applying to anyone of them for ed; I just view the ed process as a way to get my application process out of the way. So instead of applying to the one that is the most out of reach for me, I want to apply to the one that I have the highest chances of being admitted into.

Based on my stats, which one do I have the highest chance of being admitted to in ed?
You realize that applying ED means you have to go to that school if you got in. Are you saying all of those schools are your favorites and if you got into every one you don’t know which one you’d choose? I would apply to your number one choice to increase your chances.
@danfer91 no @greeny8 my 1st choice is wharton, but I no i dont have a high chance of getting, in so I want to apply to any of these elite schools that I have the highest chance of getting into.
In my experience I’d suggest you apply to the school that fits you the best. Not every program is a great fit for everyone. Where do you feel you will fit in? Apply to that place ED.
@BUalum93 I feel comfty at utexas, but i hear that it doesnt offer an ed program . I will look into it, but if that is true, i feel comfty at nyu. So can you just chance me for both nyu and utexas?
University of Michigan does not have ED. So, one decision is made for you. Apply there EA and apply for pre-admission to the Ross school. First you find out whether you get into LSA (the liberal arts school), then a couple of months later you find out if you got pre-admitted to Ross.
Ross starts sophomore year. Typically, students apply to Ross during their freshman year at Michigan.
It’s KNOW not NO. I’m glad you know you don’t have a chance of getting into Wharton. @Mtttho Also, your reason for wanting to apply ED to any of these elite schools is stupid. One applies ED to a school they’re in love with-- their dream college; they don’t apply ED simply because they want to increase their chances of getting in. BTW UT Austin does not offer ED-- they only offer Rolling Decisions, and the application deadline is December 1st.
Also, if i do not get into any of the prestigious schools, ed or rd, I will just succeed at a crappy school then transfer. Hopefully, it doesnt come down to that.
No worries, happens to all of us! Since you don’t know which school you’re in love with, I would highly advise you to stay away from ED schools (they’re BINDING–if you get accepted, you MUST attend). If you really want to apply early, I would advise you to apply to several EA schools (their decision is NOT binding and most let you apply to other EA schools). Rolling admissions is used my most public state schools. As the name suggests, they notify you of their decision on a rolling basis. The earlier you apply, the earlier you will get your deicison (there is no specified day where everyone who applied will get their deicsion).
@geisel1797 you cant just say that I have no chance at wharton. Kids with lower a ACT score and lower gpa than me have been offered admission. I know that I am an outlier, but that doesnt automatically mean I have no chance.
Are all the ED schools affordable? Applying ED also means that they are affordable and you will accept their financial package. Applying ED does not let you compare FA…
Reason’s to apply ED:
Affordable
Your First Choice school and are willing to attend no matter what
Being from Texas I know they do auto admit for about 7% ( might recently have changed) for in state kids. Many kids I know instate who were not auto admits have gotten into UT but not McCombs. They don’t have ED but kids where I’m from apply early to state schools. I’m not sure if applying early gives a bump at such a large school. If you really like NYU (totally different experience than UT), I’d go for it.
One thing I do know, after reading many chances threads, results threads and knowing the Stats of my own child and his friends applying to tops schools- it’s a crapshoot.
Best of luck.
@Mtttho Well then why don’t you apply ED to Wharton? You’ve just stated it’s your dream school and just pointed it out that others with lowers stats have gotten in. If you believe you have a chance, take the risk.
@BUalum93 Yeah, its a crapshoot. I am competing with the cream of the crop, the best and the brightest. In my heart, I know that I am one of these individuals, but my gpa… while it may be an A grade, is what makes me think that I am an outlier.
@geisel1797 I will say I have a chance, but it is a small chance, maybe less than 5%. The point of this ed thread is to find out which school I should bother applying to because I have the highest chance of being admitted into.
