Which is better for college applications?

I got the opportunity to travel to Nicaragua for 3 weeks this summer to experience their culture and live like a local. I also got the opportunity to have a internship and work in a corporate company of the IT field during my senior year. I want to do both because they both interest me but they conflict with the dates the program takes place.

I’m having a hard time choosing which one is better because I have no preference since I want to do both equally.
Which one looks better on UC college applications? I’ll do whichever one looks better on college applications.

I’m aiming for UCLA. I have a 4.3 weighted UC GPA, good extracurricular w/ leadership positions, and I’m hoping whichever one of these summer opportunity will give me a boost for a better college app

I’m a freshman applicant so take this with a grain of salt - but which one do you think would help you stand out the most? which option will change your life and give you something special and meaty to write about in your essays? does one of the two match a certain interest or career you’re aiming for, or display the person you are more effectively than the other? I don’t know you so I can’t actually tell you which one to do over the other, but whatever you do you’ll still be able to demonstrate how qualified you are as an applicant through your essays and other achievements. hope I could help a little \o/
