I’m a freshman who’ll be joining my undergrad college in coming spring 2019, For the course Computer Science Engineering, which college would be better? Stony Brook or Arizona State University?
Which one (if any) is affordable to you?
Both are affordable, I just want myself in a place where I don’t find alot of trouble in this span of 4 years and obviously where I receive a nice placement.
Both are excellent choices. ASU is slightly bigger school with more sports activities. I’d say, if you want to work on the East Coast, Stony Brook has a slight advantage, ASU has slightly advantage on the West Coast, but the difference is VERY small, plenty cross coast recruitments.
Check your admission letters to see if you have direct admission to your desired major at each school. If not, check how difficult (in terms of college grades and GPA) it will be to enter your desired major at each school.

If you have high grades and can get accepted into ASU’s Barrett Honors College, that’s a great situation. Barrett is sort of the national model for honors colleges. ASU is ginormous, but for students in the honors college, it is like attending an small school within a large uni.
