Which is "easiest to get into": H,Y,P,S,...

<p>So I’m a girl from Wisconsin planning on majoring in English and minoring in PolySci…just based on this info if it matters and general admissions rates and what not for these schools, which would you say are the hardest and easiestto get into, or are they all the same?</p>

<p>Those are all about the same, Columbia is probably the easiest, but not by much.</p>

<p>Wisconsin is not a poorly represented state and English and PS are very popular majors, so they will not be a tip factor at any of these schools. Since the admission rates to these colleges are within a couple of percentage points, they all have essentially the same difficulty of acceptance.</p>

Yale 10% ~1,318 new freshmen per year
Princeton 10% ~1,242 new freshmen per year
Stanford 10% ~1,721 new freshmen per year
Columbia 11% ~1,333 new freshmen per year</p>

<p>No, underrepresented states are places like AK, WY, NM, perhaps a couple of others.</p>

<p>Answer: None. The admissions rates do not differ enough to justify picking between them based on selectivity.</p>

<p>Stupid question imo. Don’t apply to a school just because its acceptance rate is 1-2% higher than a similar school. And even then, you can’t say S is easier to get into than H.</p>

<p>The Columbia admssion rate is wrong. According to the president (of Columbia) the admit rate was 7.8% for incoming freshmen this year.</p>

<p>Crapshoot all of them, and let me which one is easier. I believe that Princeton got 9 students from Wisconsin last year. The numbers should be similar at the other HYPS.</p>

<p>Correct me if I’m wrong, but when it comes down to it, an 11% is going to be only marginally less selective than am 8% - if there’s really any difference at all.
But, regardless of the statistics, good luck on when applying! =)</p>

<p>Admissions rates at those places are unreliable anyway because the schools so popular. If you are actually qualified numerically to go to them, your chances are a lot greater than the admit rate due to people who apply without real perspective (1800 type SAT, val. from a tiny school as an archetype). They are still very selective regardless of what your stats are.</p>
