Which is harder, SAT Reasoning, or SAT II tests?

Any opinions, cause I have no idea.
Specifically Math IIC, French, and Biology :D

SAT IIs are much harder than the reasoning test.

^Not if you take the AP exams for the subjects you’re going to take the SAT IIs for, 'cause after taking the AP exams EVERYTHING is a piece of cake. Plus the SAT IIs have very nice curves.

But yeah, if you haven’t prepared for the subjects by studying for their AP exams, than the SAT IIs are harder.

Taking the AP class for a particular subject does not guarantee that you will do well on the SAT II for that particular subject. The AP exams and the SAT IIs are completely different beasts.

Which is better, speakers or lanterns (hint, there is no relationship)?

SAT II tests are easier for international students. (non-english speaking students)

Is the World History SAT II the easiest?

There’s a reason why SAT IIs have nicer curves than the reasoning…they’re wayy harder to get every question correct on (meaning they’re harder tests).

I second Ashraf. I’d rather say that for SAT II u’ve to study and prep as u do for another important test----so yeah, SATII must involve ‘specific’ preparation.

SAT Reasoning Test has practically become a test of endurance now, since it’s SO long with few breaks. By the end your brain is just tired, even though the material is not that difficult, and it’s easy to make stupid mistakes. The unforgiving curve of SAT Reasoning also makes it more challenging.

SAT IIs require more knowledge about a specific subject, but I think because of the 1hr length and more generous curve, it’s easier if you are decently prepared for the test.

hmm good insights
I didnt know this stuff
Thanks for the info

As an international who had to self-study from scratch to take the Subject SATs, I assert that these tests may get naughty when your school curriculum is disharmonious with what is being tested.

And yeah, I found the Subjects harder than the Reasoning.

I frankly find it difficult to conclude which test is harder… First off, comparing the difficulty of SAT Reasoning and SAT II is like comparing apples to oranges. From the previous posts, I see that ppl have found SAT II tests to be “harder.” From my experience, I’ve found SAT Reasoning to be harder; I had to take it three times to get a satisfactory score while I took all four SAT II tests only once. I’d say the biggest difference is that SAT I tests more of your reasoning ability (hence the name), so how much you can conclude or draw out from the information presented while the SAT II tests knowledge, stuff you learn in school.

SAT II= Easy if you study.
SAT I = Hard either way.

Apples are less tangy, and taste much better. they have harder seeds and are red, while orange are orange. thats a decent comparison? :P

also, what should i take if i took biology only in 9th grade, and no AP bio, and chem with a poor chem teacher, and am taking physics next year, and want to take a science SAT II?

@Physics08: I agree, but there are cases, internationally speaking:), when what you’re learning in school doesn’t correlate at all with what is asked on the test.

Amen to that. Thinking that I would be ready for the SAT II in US History because it was five days before the APUSH exam I was prepping for was a HUGE mistake.

I find the SAT I easier than the SAT II.

I find SAT I to be more difficult, just because it is so long and theres no way to specifically prep for it (aside from repeated practice).

Neither one is very hard, but the SAT II is easier.

The curve on SAT II’s are harder because not everyone takes them.
