<p>as an athlete, is it harder to be granted admission at an ivy (or other highly competitive Div1 NCAA school) with a likely letter from a varsity coach, or to be granted admission at a highly competitive liberal arts school (Div3 NCAA) where there are no likely letters, but coaches can put a word in with admissions?</p>
<p>The coaches, on average, have more much more sway at a D1 school. Hands down. But it’s going to be harder to get support from a D1 coach than it is to get from a DIII coach.</p>
