Some people say they were convinced by their parents to apply to BS and some say that they had to convince their parents to allow them ot apply. I was just wondering which seems to be more common.
My parents suggested that I apply to private school but they weren’t even considering BS until I became interested in it… What about the rest of you?

I think it’ll really depend on which schools the kids you ask go to; while there are plenty of kids here at Andover who applied because of parental pressures, many of the kids I’ve asked applied on their own initiative. I, myself, had a real struggle convincing my parents to let me to apply, not because they didn’t want me to go but because they knew that if I were accepted but denied financial aid I would be heartbroken. I did all the work to show my parents it was possible. Thank goodness things worked out the way they did.
