I am lucky that there is a performing arts program at my highschool where for half a day you can take a bus over to the community college and take classes in either Voice, Acting, or Dance. However, you can only one of those and not all. Which should I choose to ensure I get the most from it?

You are lucky to have an opportunity like that…

Yes, take all three if you are able to. If you have to make a choice I would suggest you work on that which is most difficult for you. If you don’t really dance - take this opportunity to train in dance. If you acting in lacking - hone those skills, if singing is your Waterloo - work on that.

You can make the most strides in the area that has the greatest distance to cover!

Thanks for the advice. I’m not sure about the teachers- I should probably ask around. But after reviewing the classes it seems that the Singing program is more focused towards Musical Theater. And what a coincidence(!), my singing is infact my weakest point (better character singer than actually technically good singer). I’ve also had not a lot of vocal training. Tommorow I’m going to go talk to a school administrater so I’ll ask about the teachers and stuff. Thanks for replying.

I would say, like above, work on your weakest thing, since you have the choice. Otherwise, try to do all three. But remember…I dont know where i was told this, but it was by someone important somewhere-

There are more jobs for good actors who can sing and dance than good singers who can act dance etc.

Just because with acting you can do like commericals, film, tv, plays, musicals. A lot more stuff than just music or dance.

I think it makes sense, but I could be wrong.
